How we bring back the shine to gelcoat
First we assess the degree of oxidation. Lightly weathered gelcoat comes back with a gentle polish; heavily oxidised gelcoat needs more passes before the final polish. We work area by area to control the result and never remove more gelcoat than necessary.
Finally we apply a protective coat that seals the pores so salt and dirt stick less, and the shine lasts all season.
When to polish your boat
Ideally once a year, before the summer or at the end of the season, when the gelcoat has endured months of sun. If you are selling the boat, a good polish is the investment that makes the biggest difference to first impressions.
